Blog
Freelance photography is no easy game. This aim of this blog is to give you all an insight into the work that it takes to make a living from photography. I will update on a regular basis with details of trips, success and failures and more than likely the odd rant about something or other, more than likely the weather or Newcastle United. Gallery Updates will be posted here and also in the News section.

Another trip out into the frozen wilderness, produced a couple of images the landscapes around Linlithgow Loch are something that have become something of a personal crusade, owing to the fact that every time I go to shoot them the light stays away......not today tho and I finally got a couple of half decent pictures of the frozen water and the Palace. They can be seen Here Having had some some interesting gen regarding train movements come my way, I headed to Lanarkshire for what proved a very frustrating afternoon, a combination of Icy roads and late running trains resulted in a half dozen average images instead of 10 crackers........Still there's always tomorrow :-) The Railway images can be seen Here

With the camera returned and repaired I finally got to play out in the snow today albeit for an hour or so, the yield was a paltry 4 railway images which can be seen Here and Here. With the weather set to stay like this for the next week or so hopefuly many more images will be appearing here soon.

Finally a degree of success in the landscape area although probably more 'townscape' a nice strong sunset over the Edinburgh skyline allowed two reasonable images from the top of Calton Hill and also a couple of urban images my favourite being this moody black and white study of Anchor Close However on closer inspection especially of the shots around the winter markets it became apparent that the camera is suffering from a similar if not the same fault it had last year so its off to Nikon for investigation, this really couldn't have happened at a worse time with winter snow in the west highlands not too far away.........

A nice sunny day with gorgeous morning light and where am I? Stuck in front of a P.C preparing my final portfolio book and a wedding book, still 11 hours later and both are safely off to the printers, made slightly less frustrating by Shola Ameobi and Nile Ranger sending The Mags 7 points clear at the top of the table.

More image galleries now online, the majority with captions. The galleries are still very much a work in progress and will be updated as and when I get the chance. This will include uploads of older images as well as current ones.
Wednesday November 18th 2009
Work has begun on uploading and captioning images, please check back on a regular basis as I expect it will take up to 2 weeks to complete the gallery section of the site.

Trip to the West Highlands-The aim was to capture Buachille-Etive Mor in the winter light, The met office suggested a break in the cloud between dawn and lunchtime which sadly never happened. The 6am start from home not really being worth it.

Development has begun on my new website. The aim is to display all my Landscape and Transportation images in one one place and with a standard layout across the board. This will hopefully make it easier to view and purchase images from any gallery on this site. If your looking for my wedding and portrait site then this can still be found Here
